The True Hero S1E7: "At an End"

Hey, the finale is finally here!

The True Hero S1E7: "At an End"

After being nearly finished for about four months, episode seven of season one has finally been released! Overall I really enjoy this episode because we see a new side of Evan that his character has really been lacking which is his flaws. It's a short finale I know but I wanted to wrap up season one in a way that would make season two even better storywise. Now if you'll bare with me I want to discuss the season as a whole.

The first season is mostly meant to, as arguably bad as it was done, introduce the characters of Rob and Evan and to experiment with creating and finishing a dramatic-comedy series. I realize there are plenty of problems with the season's story as it jumps around far too much but there are reasons for that.

When I began the season I had all of my voice actors around, they all had enough free time to get me their lines in on time. After episode two that became a problem, even Jon, my co-director and writer, wasn't able to turn his lines in for Evan on time. Then I couldn't get in contact with the actor for Officer Wilkins, aka Thomas Rall Jr. And to top everything off the voice actor for Guardian, a shady character we meet in episode one, went off to join the Air-force. This caused enough problems for me to rewrite the season from around 22 episodes, down to the seven we have now.

I also ran into subconscious issues with the writing. As epic and funny as Jon can be his voice simply did not meet that of a comical sidekick, instead he became the badass, which is not what I had envisioned. Originally Alejandro Saab (KaggyFilms) was meant to voice Evan as he did in the original series in Halo 3 however we had somewhat of a falling out for a little while, which has since been resolved. That resulted in me turning to Jon to voice my second protagonist.

Now I know I've touched on plot points in the series that have not been concluded or followed up on, which is usually a big no-no when it comes to writing however I like the idea of having small hints and previews at a larger story spread throughout several seasons, which the main characters are unaware of. In season two some of the plot lines with Guardian and Wilkins are further explored but still not in the magnitude that will follow with season three and four.

Overall I can't say I'm necessarily proud of the season on a grand level, however I am very happy that it's done and people enjoyed it. I really like the episodes on their own, but not when I tie them together. I hope you're all as excited for season two as I am but for now I have to get to work on a movie script for something top secret for Mind Fusion that I can't talk about!

Update on AGENTS and The True Hero

Why hello there my friends, I do believe it's time for an update!

So AGENTS Episode 2 is going fairly well although still somewhat slowly. I've sent the script to all of the actors and now I'm just waiting for lines before I start body acting which will lead to doing the cinematography, capturing and editing. I expect the episode will be done within two or three weeks, seems long I know but I have some other stuff to do.

The True Hero's Season One Finale episode is also just about finished, however I still need to recast one large character that will appear in Season Two consistently. Once the episode is done I'll upload it to Mind Fusion and then I get a nice long break from Blargman and Honkboy for a little while!

Until then go and watch Chocopony 2 by Jon Michael Villagomez and Gavin Mattingly.

The True Hero S1E6: "Hardfall"

Sup.

The latest episode:

The True Hero S1E6: "Hardfall"

Arguably my favorite episode to edit thus far in the first season. As a side note this episode took a while to release because I had thought I was waiting for a bunch of people to turn in lines when in reality the only lines that hadn't been turned in were my own... derp.

Did I just say derp? Pfft, gay.

Anyway I would like to direct your attention to the music in this particular episode. As stated in the credits, like anyone ever watches the fucking credits anyway, the music is completely original and made by a good friend of mine named Allan Brown or DariusofWest. The theme that played at the beginning of the episode is based loosely on Qui-Gon's Noble End from The Phantom Menace. This song lasts about 38 seconds, after that is the Jokester's theme that he composed for Episode 5.

In regards to The Jokester... his name was something we debated on heavily. He's not at all based on the Joker from Batman, in fact you'll find that in Season 2 he's the exact opposite of the Joker. The name just stuck, and when you're writing something for so long with a placeholder name you grow attached to that name so our main villain for some time now will be named The Jokester.

If you've got a problem with it you can call me at 1-800-GO-FUCKYOURSELF.

Welcome to the Blog... Again.

Every once in a while I will find the urge to return to this god forsaken blogger account... thing... so I guess I'll start posting random updates on specific Machinima and Live Action projects that I'm working on.

Not really much to report on right now... I have a few ideas forming in my head of things to do with Halo 4, I don't want to publicize it too much but if you follow me on Twitter than you will probably have a good idea of what it is.

I had this idea to make one final Halo 3 Machinima series before Halo 4 comes out, needless to say that's not going to happen. When voice actors don't cooperate things get messy. It's also a pain in the ass to find female voice actresses who are willing to do work on machinimas so that adds yet another complication.

The True Hero is on hiatus until I get some lines turned in from voice actors. AGAIN we see a trend starting here... voice actors can be awesome if their reliable, but if they aren't the entire project suffers. By the looks of things, The True Hero will not make it into Halo 4. The Spartans do not fit the story I'm trying to portray so unfortunately I'll be sticking to Halo Reach with that series.

Other than that guys there's not a whole lot else to say, thanks for reading and you can expect more posts in the future.

Thanks,
Brady
